Job Description:

AMRO Music is seeking an outstanding individual to join our leadership team as a controller.

This is a key management job, and its responsibilities are broad and not easily defined. It generally involves financial management, analysis, and strategic planning, all aimed toward the financial success of our company.
Some of the specific duties involved include:


  • Establish and maintain appropriate accounting systems and financial security throughout the company.
  • Ensure accounting data is current and accurate throughout the company.
  • Analyze the profitability of departments, locations, and activities. Make strategic recommendations.
  • Help department managers recognize and realize profit opportunities, methods, and efficiency improvements.
  • Confirm the accuracy of GL balances monthly.
  • Using MS Excel to issue financial statements to ownership before the 8th
  • Issue departmental financial statements and reports to department managers by 10th
  • Meet with department managers to discuss department financials and breakdowns.
  • Regularly audit inventory, receivables, payables, equipment, cash, etc., and provide reports.
  • Accumulate and confirm payroll information and process bi-weekly payroll using our payroll provider.
  • Responsible for helping the company shape and adhere to HR policies.
  • Choose and handle health, property, and other insurance.
  • Choose and handle the company benefits, including 401K plan, health insurance, life insurance, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, employment, and other laws.
  • Reconcile and manage checking account balances and loan amounts.
  • Comply with bank requirements & provide monthly reports to the bank.

    As with all of our positions, this job requires pitching in to do whatever needs to be done to make the company successful, especially in dealing with unexpected developments, overflows of work, customers, phone calls, or problems, and assisting other employees and areas. Although most people at Amro have specific responsibilities, they fill in as necessary and work as a team to ensure the whole company's success.
    Schedule: 8:00 to 5:00 five days per week. Saturday and Sunday off. Schedule can be shifted occasionally for personal reasons if it doesn't result in a hardship on others or company.

    Starting Pay: $3,076 per 2 weeks ($80,000K) plus monthly performance bonus (-$250), leadership team bonus (-$2,000), and Christmas bonus (-$500). (Est. earnings $85,000+/year). Pay will be in-line with previous experience.

      Training: Training manuals and certifications are available for many Amro jobs and skills. The computer usage, purchasing, and management modules are particularly applicable to this position, but other modules can also be helpful in providing a better understanding of the total operation of the company.

      • Provide guidance and advice on financial matters of a growing company.
      • Provide the support and tools our team members need to succeed (financial, HR, payroll, systems, and processes).
      • Provide clear communication and expectations to the entire team regarding HR, payroll, and reimbursement processes.
      • Provide flexibility when needed, and recognize that our team will do everything possible to meet expected timelines, but this isn't always possible.
      • Treat each team member will respect and professionalism - everyone on our team was chosen for a reason and is working toward the same common goal; we either succeed or fail together.
      • Lead the AMRO Music Fundamentals by example.
