Accounting AnalystNational Headquarters - Memphis, TNDucks
Unlimited, Inc. (DU) is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join the
Accounting team in executing the accounting functions of the
organization. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Analyst
will have a leading role in the department regarding the monthly,
quarterly, and annual close process as well as financial reporting
& analysis. This position is located at DU's National Headquarters
in Memphis, TN.Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for oversight
and managing the month-end closing process, including account
reconciliations, ledger review, adjusting entriesPrepare financial
statements in accordance with GAAP nonprofit accountingProvide
financial statement variance analysis and coordinate financial
review meeting with key members of managementReconcile revolving
land transactions, prepare an annual roll forward for lands and
track donated easementsCoordinate transactional reporting with
third parties for conservation LLC, and reporting DU's investment
in the LLCProvide support to Conservation and Fundraising
Departments to ensure proper conservation project and fundraising
reporting, as well as provide accounting & financial reporting
advice and guidance to corporate departments and regional
operationsSupport the Controller as liaison with international
partners (DU Canada & DU Mexico)Manage Revenue Recognition, Fixed
Assets, Leases, and InventoryAnalyze general ledger accounts and
research, as neededPrepare and/or review workpapers and schedules
to ensure audit readiness and provide detailed schedules as
required by external auditorsCollaborate with other departments
leaders to manage financial budgetsDevelop process improvements to
minimize the monthly closing process while maintaining and audit
readiness and strong internal controlsPartner with DU's information
technology department on the integration of financial and
compliance systems.Performs other related duties as necessary or
assigned.Requirements:BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are
preferred5+ years of general accounting experienceAccounting
experience in non-profit/grant accounting a plusProficiency in
Monthly Financial Close & financial analysisProven analytical
skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid
conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actionsDetail
oriented, precise, accurate and organizedStrong interest in
continuously improving the automation of the accounting and
reporting processesCommitment and ability to meet critical business
deadlinesSelf-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve
problemsStrong communication skillsProven teamwork and
collaboration skillsExcellent organizational and time management
skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Excel, and
database/data warehousing.Experience in a Microsoft Dynamics
