Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity is for dedicated Special Education Teachers to support K-12 students within a dynamic urban school district for the 2025-2026 academic year. The positions focus primarily on resource room and self-contained classrooms, with caseloads up to 22 students. Candidates will have the chance to positively impact the lives of learners ranging from early childhood (pre-K) through 12th grade. Location: Flint, Michigan (Candidates from Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas are encouraged to apply) Key Responsibilities: Provide instruction and support primarily in self-contained or resource room settings. Manage a caseload of up to 22 students with diverse special education needs. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations. Collaborate with families, colleagues, and related service providers to meet students academic and emotional needs. Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment tailored to urban community learners. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement preferred. Emotional Impairment (EI) and Cognitively Impaired (CI) endorsements are highly desirable. Early Intervention (EI) and Early Childhood (MDE endorsement ZA) experience is a plus. Ability to work full-time onsite (35 hours per week) and a commitment to an urban school setting. Knowledge of MARSE and IDEA federal special education regulations. Comfort discussing urban student challenges and appropriate resource strategies. Additional Details: Contract duration: Approximately March 2, 2025 June 12, 2026 Interviews conducted remotely. Candidates should be prepared for questions regarding urban education challenges and special education law compliance.
