Industry: Commercial Refrigeration (Installation, Repair, Refurbishment & Service) Reports To: Director of Operations / Project Manager Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Travel & On-Call: Required Position Summary The Refrigeration Foreman is a hands-on field leader responsible for supervising commercial refrigeration installations, repairs, service, and warranty work for our Memphis location. This role ensures work is executed safely, correctly, on schedule, and according to company standards, while leading crews and coordinating closely with operations and project management. The Foreman serves as SpecRite Refrigeration’s on-site representative, is responsible for quality control and productivity, and may be required to travel to regional job sites and participate in an on-call rotation . Core Responsibilities Field Leadership & Supervision Lead and supervise installation and service crews on commercial refrigeration projects. Assign daily tasks, manage manpower, and ensure productivity aligns with project schedules. Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, SOPs, and safety requirements. Act as the primary on-site contact for Project Managers, General Contractors, and customers. Installation, Service & Warranty Work Perform and oversee installation, repair, refurbishment, and service of commercial refrigeration systems. Respond to and resolve warranty service calls, ensuring issues are diagnosed correctly and permanently resolved. Identify root causes of failures and communicate corrective actions to operations. Ensure all warranty work is documented accurately and submitted per company procedures. On-Call & Emergency Response Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend, and emergency service calls. Respond promptly to critical service needs and emergency breakdowns. Communicate findings, progress, and resolutions clearly to management and customers. Project Management & Reporting Use company project management tools to: View assigned projects and schedules Update task status and milestones Record daily material usage Submit daily progress updates and field notes Report delays, scope issues, and risks Plan daily/weekly material need and communicate with the project manager to ensure the readiness Review work orders, material orders, drawings, and scope details before starting work. Ensure accurate time tracking , daily logs, photos, and job documentation are completed. Travel & Site Coordination Travel to job sites as required, including multi-day or out-of-town projects. Coordinate logistics, site access, and crew needs while traveling. Represent SpecRite Refrigeration professionally at all remote job locations. Quality Control & Safety Inspect work in progress and completed installations to ensure quality standards are met. Verify systems are installed, tested, and commissioned properly. Enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and refrigerant handling requirements. Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites. Mentorship & Training Train, mentor, and support technicians and apprentices. Promote best practices, workmanship standards, and company procedures. Assist with onboarding and field training for new hires. Qualifications & Experience 5 years of hands-on commercial refrigeration experience. Prior experience as a Foreman, Lead Technician, or senior field technician. Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and controls. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work orders. EPA certification required. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Comfortable with travel, on-call work, nights, and weekends as required. Basic proficiency with mobile apps and project management software. Experience with rack systems, walk-in coolers/freezers, and commercial cases. Experience with startup, commissioning, and system troubleshooting. Familiarity with warranty processes and documentation.
