Vice President of Business Development Job Locations US-VA-Arlington Posted Date 3 days ago (2/8/2021 5:23 PM) Job ID 2021-1723 Overview The Vice President of Business Development will lead Business Development, Capture Management, Proposal management and Campaign initiatives aimed at driving sustainable growth in enterprise value. This role will have territory coverage across all Public Sector and Commercial markets.-- The Vice President of Business Development will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Team to formulate and implement an aggressive growth strategy that sustains and accelerates the company's growth trajectory. This strategy will include growing sales, revenue and an increased pipeline quality from our existing solution portfolio and leveraging our domain expertise and core competencies for adjacent market expansion. The VP of Business Development will also consult with the Executive team to provide insights into emerging needs and problems that will require new investments in solutions or services that addresses customer requirements. Overall, this position involves defining critical problems, directing the development of solutions and recommendations, building consensus with the client, managing client relations, providing leadership direction to the business development team, and collaborating with the Executive Team to drive consensus on desired/required Courses of Action. Responsibilities The Vice President of Business Development will possess strategic, management and leadership skills to lead the business development team through full and open contracts across both core Department of Defense (DoD), adjacent and commercial markets.

  • Identify new customers and opportunities across the Public Sector and commercial markets
  • Setting and managing the new business sales strategy and approach, including coordinating with the
  • program teams in identifying and pursuing additional opportunities within existing programs/contracts
  • Delivering capture operations and proposal results that improve both Win and Capture Rates
  • Positioning the company to be competitive as a prime contractor in the full and open environment
  • Staffing, coaching, leading, and managing an organization sufficient to accomplish the Vice
  • President of Business Development's strategical approach
  • Standing up capture teams, including training/mentoring staff, leveraging field/Public Sector contract
  • employees to establish a successful/impactful team
  • Standing up proposal teams, including training/mentoring staff, completing staffing plan and
  • establishing necessary qualified team of technical writers to deliver winning proposals
  • Leading a cross-functional capture and campaign team in pursuit of new franchises opportunities
  • Reinforce a Best Practice Business Development Process and drive consistent, repeatable results
  • Maintaining awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for
  • expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards, etc.
  • Successfully using business development tactics, where presence, past performance, and good
  • teaming structures to differentiate the company
  • Evaluating the success of the organization using a set of strategically important measures to
  • determine the ongoing success that the organization and partner with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to continuously drive efficiencies
  • Work in conjunction with the CAO and other members of the Executive Team to support Net Promoter Score initiatives that facilitate account advocacy and growth initiatives Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in other relevant fields preferred.
    • 15+ years of relevant or related experience required; 20+ desired
    • Must possess a current security clearance at the required level or be eligible to obtain
    • Must have the ability to define the problem and develop a solution with a strong understanding of how that solution will be implemented within cost, schedule, and performance objectives.--
    • Required experience in Leadership, Management, and federal cyber initiative insights
    • Proven track record of developed relationships with key important decision-makers and stakeholders; Relationships and expertise outside of FedGov is desired--
    • Proven domain expertise at the enterprise level with the DoD is required
    • Ability to operate as a collaborative member of the Executive Team responsible for shaping and
    • guiding business strategy and operations while maintaining company fiduciary responsibility.
    • Flexible Team-player with a client focused orientation, attention to detail
    • Strong communication skills - verbal, written, and ability to prioritize
    • Strong knowledge of military environment and policies
    • Ability to research and analyze data
    • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and people Business Development Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews. Physical Requirements
      • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
      • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.
