The VP, Product Development and Management is responsible for all development projects across the Retail and Pharmacy Solutions organization. This role will oversee the roadmap, prioritization, business planning, financial evaluation, requirement assessment, design, development, testing, piloting and implementation. The role will also build, train, develop and support a team of specialists that manage and drive these initiatives. This individual will work closely with other functional leads to collaborate and identify project opportunities and their corresponding priorities. Liaison to Company shared services teams. Consistent and continual review and recommendations of industry and universal technology to be at the forefront of the technology curve. The leader is also focused on employee development and engagement.

This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President and President of Health Mart and Health Mart Atlas.

Key Responsibilities:

General Management & Responsibilities

  • Manages active product development lifecycle and ensures that each project has the appropriate review and approvals, resources assigned, project management, tracking and reporting
  • Works closely with Strategy and Innovation to define and manage multiple and complex strategic projects towards high quality deliverables, timelines and leadership approvals
  • Leads roadmap of projects and reports back to the business continually, while evaluating priorities as impacted by business and market changes
  • Works with other Company business units impacted by project work, and creates transparent and efficient communications and collaboration with internal shared resources and external partnership and outside vendors
  • Leads a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Understands pharmacy and health care industry and can identify and recommend opportunities for the team
  • Maintains a close relationship with industry partners that drives new project considerations and builds efficiencies from learned lessons
  • Identifies disruptive innovation and assesses new market opportunities, creating options and recommendations, considering both business and enterprise perspectives
  • Builds strong internal relationships throughout the network to assist in reaching team 's goals, deliverables and removing potential obstacles
  • Leads team in assessing new product progress, identifies improvement opportunities throughout the process and translates this knowledge into future improvements
  • Works with Strategic Planning and Innovation and Pharmacy Solutions to create and execute company 's product strategies and determines critical business processes
  • Builds a product development process to accelerate and expand the product offering while strengthening Company 's brand identity
  • Champions curiosity and creativity within the team to uncover unique and innovative solutions
  • Proactively monitors competition and adjacent industries to implement actions that will drive market share growth
  • Manages function 's P&L Employee Attraction, Retention and Development
    • Ensures high quality employee attraction, engagement and development at all levels, building bench strength through modeling of ICARE/ILEAD and development of a high-performing culture
    • Empower team to achieve peak performance and meet objectives set forth by the leadership team
    • Resolves all issues and concerns and provides support and resources to your team to resolve
    • Facilitates cross functional understanding and cooperation by holding regular staff meetings and developing effective leadership team
    • Effectively manages all people issues including, but not limited to, labor, turnover, generational, diversity
    • Directs employees to provide a working environment, which fosters creativity, productivity, collaboration, and accountability by both management and employees
    • 10+ years of product development experience,
    • 5+ years of pharmacy and/or healthcare experience, preferably retail pharmacy or PBM/payer
    • 10+ years of managerial experience
    • Ability to create and deliver clear and persuasive presentations and written communications
    • Strong ability to lead and influence
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies and bring them to fruition
    • Strong product and project management skills
    • Deep experience in strategy development
    • Ability to identify and grow talent
    • Team oriented with the ability to drive Company culture
    • Strong relationship building skills
    • Business and financial acumen
    • Strategic thinking abilities
    • Demonstrated ability to use creative thinking to solve complex problems Education
      • Bachelor's Degree in business, information technology or related field required. Advanced degree preferred. Physical Requirements
        • Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time
