Job Description Trade Manager - Memphis, TNThis is a full-time,
exempt position.Position Summary:Reporting to Regional Manager -
Memphis, TN with responsibilities in Oilseeds and Ag Services. The
position is accountable for developing and implementing strategic
and intra-divisional business plans for soybean, corn, rice, wheat,
and milo origination, trade, and execution. The person will be
responsible for managing risk in accordance with corporate policy.
The position will be responsible for developing strategies that
match with our corporate objectives and executing these strategies
utilizing corporate and staff resources as deemed necessary. The
position will represent the company on various industry related
initiatives as required.Job Responsibilities:Develop and manage
Midsouth trade for Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi with the
goal of maximizing Archer Daniel Midland's profitability within a
dynamic operating environmentRecognize barge, rail and truck
transportation trade flows and forecast fleet management in a barge
trading position while responding to market arbitrage opportunities
in grain and freightLead regional rice origination and trading
efforts with a focus on profitability and volume growthAnalyze and
forecast fundamental grain market trends and competitor activities,
revising marketing strategies and programs to capitalize on
identified opportunitiesManage risk for the business segment
through futures, spreads, and paper arbitrage of North American
grain marketsDevelop, implement, and direct the business plan,
including asset utilization, market development, strategic
alignments, logistics and divisional objectivesInteracts with key
customer accounts and maintains ongoing and regular communications
with customers to enhance relationships and customer serviceEnsures
that ADM is effectively utilizing our human resources to maximize
our profits through marketing programs and customer/logistical
servicesDirects and manages the implementation of marketing
strategies such that we achieve or exceed our divisional targets as
well as working with other business units for best application of
freight application and timingWork closely with various internal
groups to ensure the most cost effective means for coordinating
ADM's operationsDevelops key communication links within ADM to
ensure optimal use of Archer Daniels Midland facilities and market
access, an understanding and awareness of market requirements,
build relationships and facilitate the effectiveness of integrated
North American operationsManages human resources in order to ensure
excellence and an awareness and commitment to divisional and group
goals and objectives. Create an environment which fosters teamwork
and continuous improvementTracks progress towards the achievement
of business plans and objectives, as outlined, and initiates action
as requiredDirect the development and provision of training and
support to ADM staff regarding professional developmentPrepares and
submits regular and ad hoc reports to the Regional Manager
regarding achievements, opportunities, and issuesJob
Requirements:University degree in agriculture or business (i.e.
economics, finance or accounting) supplemented with a minimum of
three (3) years progressively responsible experience in the
marketing of commodities and/or related food, feed and/or fuel
products in North America including management of assets and
peopleDemonstrate capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced
work environmentRice experience a plus but not a requirementProven
ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making
decisionsDemonstrate negotiation and interpersonal
skillsDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of the domestic &
international tradeProve ability to manage effectively within a
team based work environmentAbility to develop and maintain
effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and
internal customersComputer competent, with demonstrated ability in
the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software
applications within a windows based operating environmentExcited
