The Vice President of Health Economics, Market Access & Reimbursement is responsible for developing and executing the company’s market access and reimbursement strategies. This position will have the opportunity to lead a team in-house and, in the field, and also interact directly with third-party payers. The individual must lead and supervise a team responsible for a reimbursement hub, monitor and influence payer policies, educate end users about payer contracting, help build and execute economic value propositions for existing and new products, facilitating appropriate coverage, coding, and payment policies across health care segments and channels.

Essential Job Functions: Set the ambition and vision for Company’s Market Access, Healthcare Policy and Reimbursement strategy in line with franchise objectives Direct responsibility for building, scaling and managing an organization using data-driven metrics to identify trends and make informed decisions on investments to support high-growth healthcare businesses Manage team responsible for development and communication of clinical and economic evidence to payers, legislators, healthcare providers, physicians and patients in a compelling and scientifically valid manner, and supervise relationships with Integrated Delivery Networks, Commercial Managed Care, Medicare and Medicaid and other federal programs (DOD/VA) Partner with clinical and commercial leadership teams in directing the execution of pull and push through access plans across relevant functions Collaborate with legal departments (compliance and regulatory) to ensure all market access and reimbursement related activities are in accordance with government policy and guidelines Skills: Exceptional influence skills required to report to senior executives, as well as work effectively with clinical and commercial cross-functional partners In-depth knowledge of the reimbursement legal/regulatory environment with demonstrated integrity on compliance related considerations Change agent capability to support evolving business needs. Excels in a fast-paced, results-driven, highly accountable environment Ability to travel up to 50% for corporate office presence, performance evaluations of field-based teams and customer interactions Superior verbal and written communication skills. Effective leader, with proven ability to attract and develop high quality individuals and build effective teams. Education and Experience Requirements: Advanced degree preferred (MS, MPH, MBA, PhD, Dr. PH, JD). Some formal training in health economics, public health, health service research, public policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration, or related discipline preferred. 10-15+ years of experience in medical device Access and Reimbursement – including background in department leadership role Expert understanding of the health care reform landscape, to include evolving payment structures, access pathways (coverage and coding), pricing strategy, HEOR, HTA, health care systems, and payer utilization management trends. Hands on CMS and commercial payer experience is imperative. Experience in business development strategic assessments and product planning from early clinical development through commercial life-cycle Proven track record of building teams, developing talent and driving high standards for individual and team accomplishments Previous experience with health economics, health insurance reimbursement, and/or health outcomes research. Successful track record in engaging public and private payers, specialty societies, and other stakeholders. Experience with hospital purchasing. Previous experience in collaborating and working with senior executives effectively. Proven experience in strategic planning and leadership across functions within a corporation.
