Location: Memphis, TN, USCompany: Methodist Le Bonheur HealthcareSummary Provides overall operational and strategic leadership for the Associate Health Department. Develops and implements occupational health programs, plans and policies to include pre-employment health screenings, exposure control and response, vaccination programs, and employee safety. Oversees the organization's fitness for duty and return to work assessment processes. Collaborates with Infection Prevention, Employee Safety and other organizational leaders to align strategies and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines and agencies. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. Education/Experience/Licensure Education/Formal Training Work Experience Credential/Licensure REQUIRED: Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Must have at least three (3) years of nursing experience. Current license to practice as a professional nurse in the state where work is performed. PREFERRED: N/A Prior leadership experience or occupational health experience. Occupational Health Nurse Certificate (COHN) SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED: Graduate of an accredited nursing program and five (5) years of revelent nursing experience in lieu of educational and experience requirements. N/A N/A Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Highly developed expertise in analysis to support complex problem solving and decision-making. Excellent interpersonal communications skills to effectively communicate and interact with associates and all levels of management. Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment in a professional manner. Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow. Proficient with software programs including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation, OSHA, ADA, and FMLA. Key Job Responsibilities Provides strategic leadership for the development and implementation of Associate Health programs and services. Collaborates with infection control and safety practitioners regarding associate health activities system-wide and consults on employee health issues and matters. Leads strategic development and implementation of all Associate Health pandemic response plans and administers other Associate medical issues plans and communicates updates and regulatory requirements. Oversees the organization's fitness for duty assessment and referral, clearance and return to work programs. Develops and implements occupational health programs, plans and policies for pre-employment health screenings and activity. Designs and develops Associate exposure response and control, fit testing and vaccination programs. Manages drug and alcohol screening programs and collaborates with other system leaders on drug diversion prevention. Analyzes data, trends and outcomes regarding Associate Health program delivery and makes recommendations for performance improvement and the promotion of a safer work environment. Physical Requirements The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently. The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
