Radiation Oncology Memphis VA Medical Center The Memphis VA
Medical Center has an opening for a Radiation-Oncologist with a
dual academic appointment with the University of Tennessee. The
position reports directly to the Service Chief and is responsible
for the administration, management, and leadership of the entire
Radiation-Oncology Department. The Medical Center consists of one
main campus and ten community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs).
It’s a 1a complexity tertiary care VA healthcare system located in
one of the fastest growing Veteran population regions in the United
States. The facility provides comprehensive care to almost 69,000
enrolled Veterans in a 52-county area of Western Tennessee,
Northern Mississippi, and Northeast Arkansas. It includes 236
inpatient beds with a 26-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit. It is a
teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services,
with state-of-the-art technology, as well as extensive education
and research programs. Duties include but are not limited to: You
will perform all aspects of therapeutic radiation oncology. This
includes 3-D external beam planning, Intensity - Modulated
Radiation Therapy (IMRT); Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT);
Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) treatment and planning;
Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) treatment and planning;
Electron Beam Radiotherapy; Rapid Ard/ Volumetric Modulated Arc
Therapy (VMAT) treatment and planning; Pinnacle Treatment Planning
System (TPS); Mosaiq. Provide inpatient and outpatient consultation
and follow-up care post treatment. Attend and participate in Tumor
Boards. You will work in coordination with hematology/oncology and
surgical subspecialties to ensure that Veterans with malignancies
are appropriately managed. See new consults, follow-up patients,
and weekly clinic patient treatments. Responsible for devising the
treatment plan, contouring both tumor and normal structure targets
and evaluating the overall clinical suitability of a radiation
treatment plan. Participate in weekly tumor board conferences.

$350,000 - $400,000 · Work Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8AM-4:30PM · CME
Reimbursement: Possible $1000 per year (must be Board Certified) ·
