Job Description:
Mid-South Transplant Foundation, Inc. is seeking a compassionate
and dedicated Family Donation Coordinator to join our team. This
pivotal role involves working directly with families during the
most critical times, providing support, education, and guidance
about organ and tissue donation. The ideal candidate will have a
deep commitment to our mission of saving and enhancing lives
through the promotion of organ and tissue donations while providing
sensitive support to donors' families. Approach and build rapport
with families of potential donors at hospitals to discuss the
option of organ and tissue donation. Provide emotional support and
detailed information about the donation process to families,
ensuring their informed consent and comfort with the
decision-making process. Coordinate with healthcare professionals
to ensure that the donation process aligns with medical and legal
requirements. Maintain accurate and confidential records of
interactions, donor information, and follow-up communications.
Educate hospital staff and the community about the benefits of
organ and tissue donation through presentations and informational
sessions. Assist in the development of public outreach programs to
promote organ and tissue donation awareness within the community.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of dealing
sensitively with grieving families. Ability to work collaboratively
with healthcare professionals and a multidisciplinary team. High
emotional intelligence with the capability to manage stress and
provide support during emotional situations. Excellent
organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in data
management and documentation software. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Clinical
Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) preferred. Valid driver’s license and
ability to travel locally.
