Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: Open to 8, 10, or 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: 2 years of nursing experience, 1 year in labor and delivery License: Registered Nurse Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Strong multitasking and critical thinking skills Positive attitude and adaptability Teamwork skills Familiarity with obstetric and neonatal certifications Description: Join a dynamic, family-centered labor and delivery unit. Every day offers variety and meaningful patient connections. Nurses provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period. This assignment is ideal for adaptable, skilled nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key responsibilities include providing care for laboring, delivering, and postpartum mothers and their newborns in a combined setting. Manage continuous fetal monitoring and assist with both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Deliver immediate newborn care, support breastfeeding, and provide patient education. Handle antepartum admissions, post-delivery recovery, and newborn nursery assessments. Collaborate closely with providers, anesthesia, lactation consultants, and support staff. Complete accurate documentation, discharge teaching, and patient follow-up education. The ideal candidate is proactive and confident in caring for both mothers and newborns. Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial. The candidate should be passionate about patient education and supporting families during a life-changing experience.
