This night shift RN contract supports a dynamic CV stepdown team that also manages Med-Surg overflow—ideal for an experienced RN with strong assessment skills, rhythm interpretation, and fast-paced, collaborative care./n /n /n Memphis offers a lively mix of local dining, museums, and iconic music history—great for exploring on your days off./n /n/nTravel RN Job Details (Memphis, TN)/n /n - Location: Memphis, TN/n - Employment Type: Travel / Contract (Travel RN)/n - Duration: 13 weeks/n - Start Date: 03/23/2026/n - End Date: 06/22/2026/n - Openings: 2/n - Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1,910–$2,010/n - Unit: Cardiac Stepdown (CV Services Stepdown) / Telemetry with Med-Surg Overflow/n - Shift: Nights (Night Shift RN)/n - Shift Length: 12-hour nights/n - Shift Hours: 19:00–07:00/n - Hours per Week: 36/n - On-Call: As needed/n - Weekend Coverage: As needed/n - Patient Ratios: 1:6–7 depending on acuity and overflow needs/n - Unit Size: 48 beds; average daily census ~32/n - Facility Type: Large, Level I Trauma Center in Memphis/n - Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation/n - Charting/EMR: Cerner experience preferred/n /n/nRegistered Nurse (RN) Requirements/n /n - Experience: 2 years of recent acute care RN experience required (cardiac stepdown/telemetry strongly preferred)/n - Travel Experience: At least one completed prior travel assignment required (first-time travelers not accepted)/n - Setting: Large hospital experience required/n - Trauma: Level I trauma experience required/n - License: Active RN license (state or compact/NLC-compliant)/n - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required/n - Clinical Skills: Telemetry monitoring, IV starts, strong cardiac/respiratory assessment, escalation and rapid response activation/n - Vaccination: Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)/n - Local Radius: Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n /n - Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for cardiac stepdown/telemetry patients requiring continuous monitoring and frequent reassessment./n - Interpret telemetry rhythms, identify early signs of deterioration, and escalate appropriately using rapid response resources./n - Administer medications and manage IV therapies per protocol; monitor patient response and communicate changes promptly to the care team./n - Support patient flow and safe care delivery when the unit receives Med-Surg overflow, maintaining prioritization and strong clinical judgment./n - Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to coordinate diagnostics, respiratory support, mobility, and discharge planning./n - Document accurately and efficiently in the EMR (Cerner preferred) and contribute to quality, compliance, and patient safety initiatives./n - Float to like units as needed to support safe staffing and continuity of care./n /n/n Apply now to join a high-performing Memphis, TN travel nursing team and put your cardiac stepdown/telemetry RN expertise to work on nights.
