Reports To: General Manager Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Position Summary The Director of Catering & Events is responsible
for leading, organizing, and thoughtfully growing the Club’s
private events and catering operation while ensuring consistent,
high-quality execution aligned with the Club’s service standards
and culture. The Club’s current catering and events operation
generates approximately $500,000 in annual revenue and presents
clear opportunity for disciplined growth through improved systems,
pricing structure, space utilization, and client experience. This
role is intended for a hospitality professional who can stabilize
operations, build structure, and contribute to sustainable,
year-over-year growth without sacrificing service quality or member
trust. This position reports directly to the General Manager and
works collaboratively with culinary, beverage, service, and
facilities leadership. Key ResponsibilitiesClient Experience &
Event Sales Serve as the primary point of contact for members and
clients planning private events Manage the full event lifecycle
from inquiry through post-event follow-up Conduct site tours,
develop proposals, and guide clients through event and menu
planning Communicate clearly, professionally, and discreetly with
members, guests, and vendors Receive and respond to member and
client feedback, resolving concerns promptly and appropriately
Event Planning & Execution Oversee all logistics for private
events, including timelines, room setups, staffing coordination,
and service flow Prepare, distribute, and manage accurate Banquet
Event Orders (BEOs) Coordinate closely with culinary, beverage,
service, and facilities teams to ensure seamless execution Be
present for key events to ensure service standards are met and
issues are addressed in real time Ensure all events comply with
Club policies and applicable health, safety, sanitation, and
alcohol service regulations Financial Oversight & Program Growth
Develop event pricing consistent with Club guidelines and margin
expectations Ensure contracts, deposits, billing, and post-event
reconciliation are accurate and timely Track event revenue, costs,
and performance metrics Monitor booking pace, event mix, and space
utilization Identify and execute opportunities to grow catering and
events revenue in a disciplined manner that preserves service
quality and Club culture Leadership & Collaboration Lead and
support catering coordination and banquet service staff Establish
clear processes, standards, and expectations for event execution
Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability to support team
performance Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership to align
menus, staffing, and service standards Participate in leadership
discussions related to programming, member experience, and Club
operations Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of experience
in catering, events, or banquet leadership within a private club,
hotel, or upscale hospitality environment Demonstrated experience
contributing to the growth, stabilization, or repositioning of a
catering or events program Strong organizational, communication,
and problem-solving skills Experience with event contracts,
pricing, and financial accountability Comfort working with event
management systems, calendars, and basic reporting tools
Professional presence with the ability to interact effectively with
members, guests, and staff Willingness and flexibility to work
evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar
Private club experience strongly preferred Performance-Based
Incentive This position is eligible for performance-based incentive
compensation tied to clearly defined goals established annually by
the General Manager. Incentives may be based on a combination of
factors, including catering and events revenue growth, pricing
discipline, event mix, client satisfaction, operational execution,
and overall financial performance of the program. The incentive
structure is designed to reward disciplined, sustainable growth and
high standards of service rather than volume alone. Compensation &
