Job Description:
The Office of Faculty Affairs at St. Jude is dedicated to
serving the academic needs of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
faculty through direct support and guidance as well as providing
tools and resources. We work collaboratively with academic
departments and institutional partners to ensure faculty receive
the structure and services they need to excel. The Director of
Faculty Affairs plays a pivotal role in this mission, providing
strategic and operational oversight for faculty-related processes
across the institution, promoting compliance and consistency, and
fostering a seamless, high quality experience for faculty and
stakeholders alike. Job Responsibilities: Execute and guide
processes throughout the faculty lifecycle, including faculty
recruitment, relocation, compensation, onboarding, appointments,
and separation. Works with the faculty affairs team and
institutional partners to ensure smooth workflows for faculty
processes and identification of potential improvement
opportunities. Maintain, review, and update faculty-related
policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and
alignment with institutional practices. Serves as the primary
subject matter expert for faculty policies, providing consultation
and guidance to institutional leaders, departments, and partners.
Represent faculty processes in cross?functional initiatives,
ensuring faculty needs are integrated into system implementations,
workflow updates, and institutional projects. Partner with internal
stakeholders, including HR, senior leadership, and operational
teams to ensure faculty considerations are integrated into broader
organizational initiatives. Identify opportunities to streamline
workflows, improve service delivery, and address process deviations
driven by institutional complexity or competing priorities. Develop
and manage the Faculty Affairs budget, including forecasting and
oversight of recruitment, operations, and programmatic expenses.
Lead, supervise, and develop the Faculty Affairs team. Serve as a
hands-on leader who actively supports day-to-day operations while
building team capability, accountability, and professional growth.
Essential Skills Exceptional Attention to Detail & Operational
Rigor Proven ability to manage complex, highly detailed processes
with accuracy, consistency, and accountability, including
documentation, tracking, and executive-level reporting. Strong
People Leadership & Supervision Skills Demonstrated experience
supervising and developing early- to mid-career professionals,
providing clear direction, task prioritization, and decision-making
support in a structured, deadline-driven environment. Policy,
Process, & Compliance Expertise Experience developing,
interpreting, and operating within formal policies and procedures,
with comfort applying standards consistently. Strong Interpersonal
& Communication Skills Ability to communicate complex information
clearly, diplomatically, and professionally while building
productive relationships across leadership, faculty, and
institutional partners. Systems & Enterprise Technology Experience
Experience working within complex enterprise systems (e.g., Workday
or similar platforms), with the ability to understand how systems
drive process, behavior, and organizational change. Minimum
Education and/or Training: Bachelor's or Master's degree. Minimum
Experience: 10 years of related experience. Progressive years of
experience in a business-facing Program Management role, with
substantial consulting leadership & program implementation
experience. Demonstrated experience managing/ overseeing/ leading
multiple/large/complex program(s) keeping the impact on/ needs of
customer in mind. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning,
prioritizing of programs and defining approaches for
implementation. Significant experience in risk management, issue
resolution, resource management, and financial tracking across
multiple programs. Significant experience in operational
management, and budget planning & management through multiple
diverse program teams. Experience building systems/tools/processes
to leverage program synergies and drive continuous improvement in
quality and consistency of programs. Experience managing program
managers/ teams with direct reporting. Proven performance in
earlier role/comparable role. Compensation In recognition of
certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is
including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this
role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific
salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in
making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill
sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and
other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an
individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and
compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances
of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is
$104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Director of Faculty
