Provides experienced legal counsel and advice on operational, contract, claims, regulatory and litigation related matters.

Responsibilities

  • Represents and defends the company against all types of claims (i.e., regulatory and liability).
  • Analyzes claims to determine risk of liability and damages to the company.
  • Reviews business practices and makes recommendations to mitigate legal risk.
  • Assists with document preparation and production for legal proceedings.
  • Develops and maintains processes to ensure compliance with legal regulations affecting the business.
  • Contract review and revision.
  • Provides day to day advice on regulatory and liability issues to relevant business stakeholders.
  • Conducts research on regulatory, liability, and corporate legal issues.
  • Analyzes data to identify liability claims trends and identify mitigation solutions.
  • Assists with the investigation of allegations of violations of company policy.
  • Assists with preparation of due diligence and documentation for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Liaises with outside counsel on litigation matters.
  • Manage budget for litigation spend.
  • May supervise other attorneys and paralegals

      Education And Experience Requirements

      • Juris Doctorate degree and admission to practice in at least one state required, with admission to the Tennessee Bar required within a reasonable period.
      • 2-7 years of experience practicing law required.
      • Some exposure to regulatory enforcement preferred.
      • Litigation and/or litigation management experience preferred.
      • In-house experience is preferred.
      • Experience conducting investigations and managing e-discovery preferred.
