Mid-Level Criminal Defense Attorney

Company: Phil Harvey Law, PLLC
Location: Marion
Posted on: June 8, 2024

Job Description:

If you've already learned your courtroom basics and want more opportunities for growth and advancement, we have an opportunity for you.

Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will assist in all aspects of criminal casework and client care.

The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal advocacy skills. If you're ready to continue your growth in the industry and level up your trial advocacy, you may be the right candidate.

As the firm's first-ever Associate Attorney, you will assist with minimal supervision in all aspects of criminal casework and client care. You will start by assisting Phil on existing cases, and you will be expected to gradually take on your own caseload as the firm grows.

Daily duties will include new client onboarding, motions practice, discovery review, DUI video review, court appearances, case negotiations, and settlements, field investigations, witness interviews, preliminary hearings, client updates, phone consultations, office consultations, and case file upkeep.--

As a regional firm, we expect you will use your personal vehicle to attend out-of-town court settings, which we will reimburse at the federal mileage rate.--

We're not like other firms. You will adhere to high expectations for professionalism, five-star client service, team-based casework, creative problem-solving, and meticulous, process-oriented workflows.--

We will give you the support and resources to meet our high standards. Your bar fees, professional privilege tax, and annual CLE requirements will be covered. Your development in handling larger and more serious cases will be encouraged. Our goal for you is to become a self-sufficient trial lawyer capable of first-chairing the most serious trials while also growing in your leadership skills to help associates who come behind you.--

As a small-business employer, we have flexibility in how we provide health insurance benefits and can discuss helping you secure coverage via our licensed broker and/or a health savings account (HSA).

Compensation offered will be commensurate with your experience, passion, and demonstrated potential, from $73,000 to $105,000 annually, with performance-based raises considered after your first six months and thereafter annually.
