Job Description Production Operator III - The Production Operator position is responsible for the operation of machinery and equipment used to manufacture high-quality products by monitoring, recording, and adjusting machines as needed to meet customer demands. The Machine Operator must be able to operate and troubleshoot machine operation and inspect finished products. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the operation of the machine in a safe manner according to safety guidelines including lockout/tag-out procedures and daily inspections of equipment (hoists/cranes, ladders, forklifts, etc.). Responsible for reading and interpreting job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements, recognizing types of material for specific products, and ensuring proper monitoring and recording are performed. Maintain operating equipment high-performance utilization in a consistent manner per identified key process variables that ensure high product quality and productivity demands are being met. Control quality of the manufacturing of finished goods through periodic inspections to identify process flaws and defects, mitigate upon detection. Support daily activities within the guidelines of the site, company policies, and job descriptions to drive system sustainment, enhance employee engagement, and promote ownership at all levels of the organization. Shift 12-hour rotating shifts- 1 week, 3 days (36 hours) and the next week 4 days (48 hours, the 8 hours is OT), will work every other weekend. Shifts are 5am-5pm and 5-pm-5am. Job Requirements: Education High School diploma or GED, preferred. 2 plus years experience as a machine operator Basic knowledge and experience of computers and working in CAD systems. Prior experience operating a forklift, preferred. Ability to use measuring gauges such as tape measures. Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills Ability to effectively communicate. Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: This position conducts their work in a manufacturing environment with limited exposure to the outdoors; there is exposure to loud machinery, odors, and dust in addition to the special hazards of mechanical and electrical. Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked. Some overtime may be required during high sales volumes.
