OperatorsWhat is a brake press?A press brake is a machine pressing
tool for bending sheet and plate material, most commonly sheet
metal. It forms predetermined bends by clamping the workpiece
between a matching punch and die. Typically, two C-frames form the
sides of the press brake, connected to a table at the bottom and on
a movable beam at the top. The bottom tool is mounted on the table,
with the top tool mounted on the upper beam.
As a member of the Olympic Industries forming team, you'll join a
team of press brake operators who safely produce parts made of
primarily carbon and stainless steel. In this role, you will be
trained on proper setup, quality checks, and efficiency processes
to drive maximum production. You will also have the opportunity to
be cross trained into other areas of the operation if you
desire.Key Areas:Demonstrate safety in the press brake operation
process. Goal of zero recordable injuries.Experience with Trumpf,
Safan, and Accupress press brakes are a plus.Opportunity to cross
train into different departments (laser, punch, weld, and
machining) as opportunities arise.Ability to read and decipher
blueprints.Ability to do setups on press brakes is a plus.Ensure
production of all parts meet OI quality standards by utilizing
internal quality processes and SOP.Based on the production plan,
ensure that all orders are produced in a timely manner to
facilitate completing through the facility by due date.Identify and
assist with machine issues, specifically responsible for
communicating to department supervisor and maintenance supervisor
when issues arise.Communication to supervisor and/or production
manager of material issues, shortages, adjustments, ideas,
enhancements, etc. that are pertinent to the
operation.Communication to engineering regarding any changes or
adjustments needed for press break programs.Utilize order router as
primary reference to ensure correct part is produced. If
information is missing from router, notify supervisor of change
needed.
