Assists with utilization review and blood administration education and auditing. Observes and critique of blood transfusion processes on the nursing floor. Provides utilization reports and feedback to upper management. Utilizes feedback on observations of blood transfusions that will be created and provided to Clinical Directors and nursing educators for continuing education. • Conducts audits and reports findings to the appropriate individuals in a timely fashion.
• Produces data/dashboards for Quality initiatives.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and compliance activities.
• Effectively manages resources such as productivity, supplies, equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology
  • Bachelor's Degree Natural ScienceExperience Qualifications
    • 3-5 years Hospital setting with working knowledge of transfusion medicine and processes- Candidates with RN License must have a minimum of three years of experience in a hospital setting with working knowledge of transfusion medicine and processes.
    • 5-7 years Transfusion medicine- Candidates with Medical Technologist license must have a minimum of five years of experience in Transfusion Medicine.Skills And Abilities
      • Skill and proficiency in applying highly technical principles, concepts and techniques, which are central to the professional discipline in Nursing or Transfusion Medicine.
      • Must have working knowledge of lab procedures.
      • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (mainly Excel and Minitab).
      • Ability to communicate complex technical material to physicians, other clinical Associates, and patients and their families both verbally and in writing.
      • Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of own workflow by prioritizing projects.
      • Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist in quality control and education.Licenses and Certifications

            • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
