role will report to the IT Applications Manager.ASSA ABLOY is a
global leader in opening access solutions. Our Group focuses on the
manufacturing of steel doors and frames within the commercial
market catering to such industries as hospitality, healthcare,
aerospace, defense, -sporting venues and education. -This position
will be on-site and is based out of our Milan, Tennessee location.
-What would you do as our IT Business Analyst? You will be a key
liaison between the technical IT staff that implements business
process management technology solutions and the line-of-business
staff that performs the process work. Business Analysts must be
able to straddle the IT and business domains and communicate (or
broker communications) between each side.This person is a hands-on
worker who will deal with the more tactical, day-to-day aspects of
discovering, validating, documenting, and communicating
business-process-related knowledge through modeling, simulating and
analyzing current and future states. The Business analyst supports
the business process owner, enabling them to make better decisions
about changing processes to drive higher performance outcomes
consistently.You would also:
- Define and document business functions and processes.
- Consult with functional unit management and personnel to
identify, define and document business needs and objectives,
current operational procedures, problems, input and output
requirements, and levels of systems access.
- Act as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical
analysts, information technology analysts, and consultants in the
analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of systems
to ensure optimal operational performance.
- Analyze the feasibility of, and develop requirements for, new
systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system
design fits the needs of the users.
- Identify opportunities for improving business processes through
information systems and/or non-system driver changes; assists in
the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or
operational changes.
- Research and prepare reports, consolidating information into
cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form
for use in management decision-making.
- Participate in user acceptance testing and testing of new
system functionality.
- Maintain a customer-oriented mindset, and professional demeanor
at all time, even under duress
- Maintain attention to detail, and a focus on delivering
complete solutions on time
- Function autonomously and/or adjusts hours of work, priorities
and assignments as required to ensure effective time management and
completion of assigned responsibilities
- Plan and prepare technical reports, memoranda, and
instructional documentation as required
- Remain informed on relevant technology, constantly seeking to
expand knowledgebase and skill set, and requests necessary training
to augment these objectives
- Perform all work in a safety conscious manner, taking
appropriate precautions to ensure the safety of one's self and
co-workers The Skills and Experience you need:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science,
Information Systems, Business or a related field, preferred.
- 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst or a similar role
with like-minded responsibilities
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on
experience in software development and web technologies
- Experience in assessing a broad range of systems and processes
to identify solutions considerate of performance, stability, cost,
and simplicity.
- A patient listener, with excellent communication skills and the
ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences.
- Self-starter with the ability to appropriately prioritize and
plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment
- Knowledge of business analysis techniques and tools
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Team player with experience leading and collaborating
cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Procedures and methods for testing business functions within
computer systems, using troubleshooting and analytical skills What
