Job Summary
City Brewery's ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter with
effective communication and leadership skills who is looking to
being a key part of the facility's engineering team in ensuring
efficient and safe equipment operations while also resolving issue
that could arise during shifts. The candidate has at least five
years of experience with the following skills: install, configure,
program, test, and repair programmable logic equipment and
associated peripherals i.e. any input/output module and associated
field devices both discreet and analog, A.C./D.C. drive, electrical
servo, man machine interface, programming terminal, or
communications gateway using hand tools and test instruments
including personal computers and laptops, oscilloscopes, ammeters,
voltmeters, calibration equipment and soldering equipment for the
purpose of automated machine control and data processing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Make changes to existing control logic and operator interface
programs
Assist the Sr. Controls Engineer Supervisor in implementing new
control systems
Install and configure programming terminals
Maintain data structure of the terminals used to monitor PLC
programs and operate the machinery
Install, test and repair electrical controls components
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and apply knowledge of
functional operation of machinery and electrical control units and
systems
Assist maintenance in identifying defective components and wiring
and adjusting mechanical parts
Align, adjust and calibrate control components
Maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests
Perform programming and troubleshooting of PLC controllers
Read schematics and OEM specifications in order to program,
configure and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
Develop a thorough knowledge of Allen-Bradley and Rockwell
Automation hardware and software
Minimum Qualifications
Possess an Associates degree in electrical/electronics technology
and a minimum of 5 years related experience in a manufacturing
environment or equivalent combination of such experience and
education
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as feet/minute(second),
counts/engineering unit, rate of change, proportions, percentages,
area, circumference, and volume. Able to apply concepts of basic
algebra and geometry
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability
to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations
