Position Summary: -This person will be responsible for providing mechanical support in response to operational changes resulting from the malfunction, breakdown, relocation, replacement or other modifications of existing mechanical systems and/or equipmentEssential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:Maintain equipment using tools and equipment providedFollows all work safety policies and guidelinesObserves equipment operation and be able to fix and troubleshoot any malfunctions and /or safety issues/concernsPerforms PMs on equipment on a weekly basis and completes work orders as assignedAdheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) product standards and guidelinesMaintains a clean and organized areaPerforms other duties as assignedAccountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hoursMaintain acceptable times for repairs and adjustments to the linesAssist Mechanic Operators on troublesome issues to alleviate downtimeUtilize LOTO as required when by passing guards or servicing a piece of equipmentSet up/tear down of assigned pieces of equipment on daily basis with minimal wait timePerform emergency equipment repairs either alone or with assistance from other mechanics or team coordinatorsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructionsFollow diagrams, operation manuals and manufacturing instructionsMust be able to troubleshoot malfunctions in timely manner and find resolutionMust be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust pass a background check, drug screenMust be able to read and writeNeed to be familiar in SPC, HACCP, GMP'S SSOP'S and USDAComputer skills with Excel, PowerPoint and WordProduct knowledge and process knowledgeAbility to trouble shoot problems with machines to prevent down timePhysical Requirements:Constant standing and walking (8 hours or more per day)Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more)Reaching overheadReaching below kneesAbility to multitaskCompleting required paperwork in timely mannerUsing material handling equipment as neededWorking Conditions/Department Description:Work in damp and cold environment as neededWork with loud and noisy machinery as neededWork in dusty environment when using spice as neededWork with raw meat as neededWork in congested areas as neededWork in tight spaces in order to complete workWe embrace equal opportunity employment.
